I would say this is the last proof that the B500 and the 610/B128 are in fact identical machines. It seems that Commodore went through several naming schemes for the PET-II machines:-) Unfortunately, I've never seen such an early kernal version (-01), so I have no image from a 610 to compare. I would expect this kernal version to be quite buggy and contain cassette routines instead of the ROM monitor and the coprocessor routines. It should be possible to replace the chips by that of a Commodore 600/700 without problems. > Looks identical to the left one, except for the power supply, which > isn't caged in my B500. European models had another power supply. The caged power supply was used in the U.S. model, but it is not of very high quality, at least not when used with 240V. The power supply of U.S. P500 survived just two weeks after switched to 240V. Regards Uz -- Ullrich von Bassewitz uz@musoftware.de Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing list
