thanks for the two replies so far to my inbox. I'm just about to
subscribe to the list, but a quick note: my mistake, I meant the
LM2586T-ADJ was the regulator. It has for input 8xLR20 ("D") cells,
for 12v fresh and designed for 8v for drained batteries, boosted
to 32v with that chip, in step up mode (not flyback mode).
