Hi Bryan, I've seen one aftermarket cable that was 12inches (300mm) long, so if well constructed, that length may be fine. Having said that, I once tried to build one only half that length and had intermittent trouble... This guy's site shows what can be done (and still work!) http://singularcrew.hu/ide64pics/soci/ - Nick -----Original Message----- From: Bryan Pope [mailto:bpope@wordstock.com] Sent: Tuesday, 17 December 2002 12:06 AM To: cbm-hackers@cling.gu.se Subject: Length of ribbon cable on exp port... All, I have finally scored a 128D :D and I am planning to get an IDE64 for it. I would like to install the IDE64 and a hard drive inside the machine. Does anyone know how long a ribbon cable can be? Can you use an IDE type cable or is there another one better suited for the job?
