I designed an IDE interface for the C64 recently, just haven't built it or written the software. It should give a proper 16 bit interface, mapped into one of the unused I/O spaces. Only about 5 or 6 chips, and no PALs. I was going to wait until I had it working before announcing it, but since people are talking IDE already... Anyone interested in a copy of the design?
