Howdy all, Way back at the beginning of February I wrote a 65816 emulator in perl that could run Slang. The problem is that it runs Slang really, really, really slowly. Well, this weekend I had some time and inspiration, and converted it to C. So there is now a cross-platform version of Slang available at http://www.ffd2.com/fridge/slang/ The idea of the program is to emulate a 65816 and enough of a C64 to run the native code. It's a little shell that wraps around the binary, understands RAM/ROM management using $01, intercepts certain kernal calls (like $FFD2), and performs simple ascii/petscii translation, with the net effect of being a cross-platform version of Slang. Note also that since Slang includes an assembler, this is also a cross-assembler (Sirius). I've also included the original perl code; maybe someone can make use of it. Thanks all, -Steve Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing list
