Hallo Kenn, Jan, > if the 900 uses the 8250 drive surely the structure of the > layout must be similar ? The Catweasel can read/write 1541 disks using a PC floppydrive. So this means that the structure of a 1541 disk is the same as a DOS one? The main difference in this case is the piece of electronics between the drive and the PC. OK, the C900 uses a 8250 drive. But as we all know, there is no electronics on it at all. So what about the electronics the C900 is using? And even when the electronics is the same, if the C900 uses a different GCR encoding, we'll still have troubles. Sorry for playing the advocate of the devil but in these kind of things you rather should expect the worst, then you never can be disappointed. Jan, if you are in the neighbourhood you can lend an IEEE interface for the C64. About plugging software, may I suggest CBM-HD (http://www.baltissen.org/htm/cbmhd.htm, the IEEE drive simulator I told you about lately? But some soldering has to be done! -- ___ / __|__ / / |_/ Groetjes, Ruud \ \__|_\ \___| URL: Ruud.C64.org =====DISCLAIMER================================================================= De informatie in dit e-mailbericht is vertrouwelijk en uitsluitend bestemd voor de geadresseerde.
