I took the drive apart. The line goes from the power connector, to a switch, then to a large filter capacitor, and then to 2 7805's. According to the 7805 spec's, it needs 10V input and will handle 1A each. That would mean it needs a 10V 2A power supply, and it looks like the center pin is positive. I could not find a 10V 2A supply, so I went with my first guess of 12V 1.5A. The drive powers up, but does not read or write a floppy disk correctly.
