Hallo Atnitrack, > I wouldnt "intercept" anything in the normal sense, I'd just > use my own routines in 1541-RAM to handle all the needs. (You > get your own routines there via the usual m-w and m-e commands). Using your own routines is just another way of interception. The only thing I want is to implement them in ROM because using RAM means the routines have to be reloaded after every reset. Hmmm, question: how are you going to use them? For example, how are you going to tell your 1541 to behave like a 8250? (remark: as far as it concerns the floppy, not the hardware; the 1541 has only 2 KB of RAM for example) The 1541 is not equiped with RAM vectors like the C64 so how are you going to re-route a command? > I plan to use an Atmel AVR .... > ... > What do you think? Let me know. Please explain a bit more what the role of the Atmel is. > > It also looks as if my GCR encoding/decoding routines don't > > work right: .... I found out they work fine. The problem started when I converted bytes read from the floppy disk into normal bytes and back again. I found out that there was en error with the read data. > This is cool, can you send me a picture of the schematics and > software? :) The hardware is quite simple: only solder a 25 pins D-connector on your 6522. I started to write new software. The idea is anyway to forget the concept of G64 for the moment; I just store the bytes I receive and send them back when needed. When this works out fine, I analyse the stored data to see how I can combine the result with G64 and D64 images. -- ___ / __|__ / / |_/ Groetjes, Ruud \ \__|_\ \___| URL: Ruud.C64.org =====DISCLAIMER================================================================= De informatie in dit e-mailbericht is vertrouwelijk en uitsluitend bestemd voor de geadresseerde.
