There is no problem saving and loading files with vic-20 and 1581, but the chrout return value always indicates a timeout when sending data from vic-20 to 1581, although the data is correctly transmitted. I think I first noticed this with the machine language monitor module, which fails to save memory areas (it does not use SAVE, at least I think I checked that it used chrout or the serial bus routines). The next time I came across this when I adapted the Veni Vidi Vic! loader to 1581: sending the drive code failed if I checked the chrout return value... So, the sad thing is that programs that perform error checking fail, while all that omit error checking work just fine.. -Pasi -- /Daniel was past all decision.
