Hi again, as writing before, this is a follow-up to my previous post to mailing list. I would like to ask you for authentic copies of your Commodore floppy 6530 RRIOT ROM contents, if it is not already available on the big well known Commodore archives yet. To dump ROM contents you should probably use the FDC-ROM duping tool from my previous article. Please contact me, if you don't feel able to convert it to simple Basic instructions on your own. To me at least the following part numbers of certain FDC ROM versions and revisions are known: CBM code MOS code drive location DOS version references avail ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 251256-02 6530-050 8250LP DOS 2.7 10 901466-01 901466-02 6530-028 2040 UK3 DOS 1.0 2,5,10 901466-04 6530-034 4040 UK3 DOS 2.0/2.1 2,5,6,7,10 v 901483-02 6530-036 8x50 DOS 2.5 9,10 901483-03 6530-038 8x50 UK3 2.5 Micropolis 1,2,3,4,7,9,10 v 901483-04 6530-039 8x50 UK3 2.5 Tandon 1,2,7,9,10 901869-01 6530-048 8x50 UK3 2.7 MPI 8050 1,3,4,7,9,10 v 901884-01 6530-040 8x50 UK3 2.7 Tandon 1,7,9,10 901885-01 6530-044 8x50 2.7 Micropolis 9,10 6530-47 8050 DOS 2.7 8 901885-04 6530-047 8x50 UK3 2.7 Micropolis 1,3,4,8,9,10 v 901885-05 8x50 2.7 Micropolis 7 v 901887-01 1001 8 901888-01 1001 8 251474-01b 2732 8250LP 2.7 Matsushita 3,10 v 251257-02A 2716 1001 2.5 Matsushita 10 300515-001 2716 9090 DOS 3.0 10 300515-002 2716 9060 DOS 3.0 10 300541-001 2716 8280 3C DOS 3.0 10 They were collected from more or less well known Commodore archives and web sites: [1] http://www.devili.iki.fi/Computers/Commodore/8050/Service_Manual/page_2.html [2] http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/firmware/README.txt [3] http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/firmware/drives/old/8050/index.html [4] http://www.commodore.ca/manuals/funet/cbm/firmware/drives/old/8050/index-t.html [5] http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/schematics/drives/old/4040/parts.txt [6] http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/firmware/drives/old/4040/index.html [7] http://www.cbmhardware.de/mosic/index.php [8] http://www.baltissen.org/htm/partnum.htm [9] http://elektronik-technik.biz/liste/ETP-Waren-Katalog.doc [10] http://mhv.kilu.de/cbmroms/cbmroms.php Only for the entries marked with "v" in the "avail" column, ROM contents are publically available for download. Do you know of other part numbers for the RRIOT chips within the above mentioned Commodore disk drives? Are you able to provide authentic copies of ROM contents not only from your RRIOT chips, but the DOS ROMs and GCR EPROMs as well? I would be nice to pack all these firmwares into one big 29C256 Flash-ROM along with the adapter mentioned in the previous post. So everyone with a decent DOS ROM set and revision would find an adequate replacement for his defective RRIOT.
