I > think I read somewhere that the bug was fixed in some revision. The save with replace bug existed in ALL versions of Commodore DOS up to 1541-II. You can copy the contents of the 1541-II ROM into EPROMs and put them in older 1541s. I have done that on mine, and they work fine. The 1581 does not have the bug.
