The product was killed by Commodore in the fight (with Amiga) for production capacity - which was not unlimited - unfortunately. But the CBM900 did get to the stage where it was pretty close to a product launch - it got its own casing looking quite similar to the one that A2000 later was shipped in. The remaining prototypes and the documentation actually disagrees at some points - so it is difficult to say what is the most correct. I only know of 4 prototypes units in the wild: Bo Zimmerman has two units - one workstation (hires) and one server (lowres) unit. They previously belonged to Claus Schönleber. Home Computer Museum has one unit - I do not know if it is a workstation or a server unit. And then there is the one (server unit) that we are currently restoring. As far as I know there our unit is the only one that is able to power up right now. PS: if anyone knows about more CBM 900 units and/or owners then please speak up. /Uffe Jakobsen Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing listReceived on 2011-12-11 18:00:08
