In case of Hungarian it's even much harder since most languages nearby (English, German, Slavic ones, Latin-related ones etc) are all Indo-European languages, while Hungarian is not. As far as I can tell from my tries to learn Norwegian, it's much more accurate to translate by machine between languages which are closer to each other (English and Norwegian are both of Germanic languages by origin, I used to try to translate Norwegian into English when I was not sure what it ment). Also the structure of Hungarian and the very great spectrum of meanings of words/notions in some cases mades it very hard to use an algorithm to translate. Eg, translating some other languages to Hungarian (with google translator) produces a text which are MUCH MUCH more non-sense for me than translating a text to English, where I have to understand that then. But this seems to become into an off-topic thread soon, I guess :) Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing listReceived on 2012-03-10 12:00:05
