One thing I'm wondering about is the various ways to tap some video signal 
out of the computer, either internally or IIRC from the user port. Would the 
video signal obtained through a converter also be 50 or 60 Hz like rest of 
the machine, and could that be yet another reason why Commodore kept the two 
apart, except for the interference with neon lights as pointed out by 
Groepaz?
