No, the DC ROM for the SFD-1001 is different from the 8250LP or 8296D. All
of them use the Matsushita (Panasonic) drives. But the SFD-1001 DC ROM check
to support only one drive!

The CBM P/Ns are:
SFD-1001:     251257-02A
8250LP/8296D: 251474-01B

Both are EPROMs on an adapter. When the main board are different, the
adapters are, too.

SFD-1001:     251232
8250LP/8296D: 251457

That's a good question. I don't think so. I think, there must be a special
version.
