That can work, but you have to find the right EPROM, it's not 
necessarily the fastest one that'll work.

The biggest problem is if it seems to work and then gives you trouble 
with some certain software or modules... Ask anyone who ever used an 
EPROM as replacement for the PLA in a C64.
