Have you looked at any of the articles & posts about modding a 'standard' PC-type drive for use in an Amiga? I've never tried it but it sounds like the same issues and relatively simple mods: -Lock in DD mode (disconnect & ground pin 2) -Move DC to pin2 -Add RY on pin 34 -Set drive to DS0 with switch or jumper.
