Often a newbie will be so out of their depth they won't even know how to
find answers to their simple questions. That is if they have even
figured out what their question is, they may be looking for help with
the last 1% of their solution when the first 99% of their solution is
just plain wrong. Just remember that everyone was a clueless newbie when
they started, although for most of us it was so long ago that we didn't
have anyone to ask.

So I try to remember that if someone asks what you consider a stupid or
lazy question then there is no benefit in proving your superiority by
flaming them, if you don't have the time or patience to answer politely
then just don't. Of course if the list just gets spammed by thousands of
emails a day then there may be appropriate action that can be taken.
