A much better approach (imho) would be the C2N232 approach (Marko Makela was the original designer afair). It transforms the audio stream into the real program and back. So you don't need to store audio (compressed or not). That said, with all the SD-based solutions (both IEC and IEEE-488), really is there a need for something else?
