Color LUTs

So, it sounds a bit different from VIC-II color RAM.
Lets see if I understand correctly.

What we would have is a screen limited to X colors at
one time. If a table is stored in RAM at some address
the video controller can see it, then the table is X
bytes long and contains the 5-bit RGB codes for each
of the X colors we want to display on the screen.

Can more than one pallet be stored at a time? I mean,
in VIC-II bitmap mode, color data comes from $0400,
but you can store as many 1K tables as will fit in 8K
of video memory. Then you just change a pointer to use
the new color data instead of having to re-write a
whole table.

If more than one pallet can be stored, can they be
switched between rasters? Even better, can the pallets
be switched between lines?
