Hi Ruud, This may not help much but I too have a PC20-III with it's original 20MB hard-disk. I tried to replace the 20MB unit with a 100MB (IDE not EIDE) drive. This 100MB drive failed with the same message you received below. When I plugged back in the original it worked fine... I checked the $C8000 area where you normally find the BIOS for the old XT- and SCSI-controllers but nothing found there. The booklet I have only mentions that all needed material is delivered with the HD. FYI: this board has an onboard IDE interface. I know its possible to insert an MFM-controller but I prefer to use its original interface. Thanks for any info.
