What I meant by BIOS was a kind of bootstrap routine. A very small piece of ASM that tells the computer where to boot from and what kernal. You could point it to either memory (EPROM) or disk. I dunno if this is possible with the C64, but I suppose that we could hack it. (I include we, because I think that I also am capable of doing this.
