Hallo allemaal, Starting all over again with the DMA-less version, I hit on something that could (partly) solve the problems. Having the DMA-item out of my mind, my unconciousness made some overtime last night as when I woke up, I had some answers in my mind: - the only 16-bit-only transfer I know of is the IDE-harddisk. I wonder if 16- bit-only is only limited to I/O - consecutive 16-bit I/O reads don't exist (FYI: IDE-data is transfered using one single I/O-address) - AFAIK _all_ memory orientated cards are capable of 8-bit operations. If the above assumption really is true, then I could ommit 16-bit memory transfers and this _realy_ would simplify matters a lot. Please, some comment wanted. Comment like "you're right" is appreciated as well. Thanks. Groetjes, Ruud http://Ruud.C64.org/ - This message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing list.
