The 6x0 and 7x0 have the same video logic, including the 6845 (or 6545,
don't
remember). Simply replacing the charrom and modifying the hardware
switch
(jumper I think) should possibly make it run in the other mode.
VICE has a nuber of switches besides the pre-defined (i.e. factory 6x0
and
7x0) modes.
The 5x0 has to some extent the same hardware, but with the 6845 replaced
by
a VIC II, and a different memory layout due to this.
