maybe i should mention my "rr" program (http://rr.c64.org/silversurfer) ....
runs on dos/win32/linux at the moment (macos port is in the making) and
besides a lot of other things (primary purpose is remote debugging) it can be
used to transfer / upload data to (currently) the c64.

also magervalp has written a simelar program in PERL (http://come.to/life) ...

my program supports magervalps protokoll aswell, so his tools for the
c64,plus4,vic20 etc will also work with it.

also both programs (the c64 side of things) is available for use with the
silversurfer (the highspeed rs232 addon for the retro replay) - magervalps
disc- and file- transfer tools also support the swithlink/turbo 232.... and
there'll be support for standard rs232 as soon as ullrich rewrote the
serial-port api for cc65 :)

just for curiosity... i'd be very greatful if you could point me to a simple
source-snippet that demonstrates serial i/o in macos.... i got my stuff
working fine in djgpp/cygwin/mingw32/linux but it just refuses to do useful
things in macos :(
