With USB you just don't have a guarantee that packets are delivered in time -- and if you do isochronous transfer you don't have a guarantee that transmission was ok. With one of the already mentioned PICs, an EZ-USB or similar, of course something like a C2N-USB can be done. But the original question was if a generic USB2PAR adapter would work.
