I have repaired an Amstrad 3" floppy drive by replacing the rubber belt that spins the disk. Maybe this drive can be repaired in the same way. The "little wires breaking down"-theory doesn't sound too plausible to me. -----Original Message----- From: ext ncoplin@orbeng.com [mailto:ncoplin@orbeng.com] Sent: 04. I have a problem with my Commodore 8250 double disc drive. Drive 1 has a problem and constantly gives read errors. A computer techinician had a quick look and seemed to think that it's basically an age problem and perhaps the little wires which control the head are breaking down. So I am trying to either get another complete working 8250, or get a non working 8250 and try to get the Drive 1 out of it. I have emailed you from getting your address off an old Commodore site. I was wondering if you had an 8250 and would be happy to part with it? Alternatively, if you know of someone who has one of these, would you pass on my email address please.
