Hello All, >> >Now the big question: why this delay ??? >> I'm not sure about the IEEE parallel specification, but the serial one has a >> minimum "time between bytes" (tbb) which needs to be maintained. Are you >> meeting this spec with the delay and not without? >Care to tell what will go wrong if that spec is not being maintained? My Basically much like Ruud has observed: both machines (PC and C64) will appear to hang. The tbb value I use is 100us and it seems to be quite critical to maintain this. >serial bus routines on the C2N232 are ignoring this spec, and the transfer >works on the VIC-20 and C64 (LOAD, SAVE, GET#). (The remaining problem, Perhaps there is enough software latency that means you have a delay in anycase... can't comment without knowing what the C2N232 code does (never looked it). - Nick - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Your Engineering Solutions Provider http://www.orbeng.com.au/orbital/engineeringServices/engServices.htm - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PLEASE TAKE NOTE: The contents of this email (including any attachments) may be privileged and confidential.
