Hey Micha, I gave hugin a try, but it didn't work for me. Importing the images, setting control points and doing optimizations went fine, but I wasn't unable to export the final image. I only took the first row, but nevertheless it seems that this exceeded available memory or other resource. Then I tried Photoshop. To my surprise, the images fit very well I did not need to perform any geometric changes. By only layering all twelve images of the first row onto each other, adjusting the overlap to a best fit position and then doing some nice blending did do the job. Nevertheless doing this job by hand eats a lot of time. I scaled down the final result and reduced color space to 256 bits, since my web space does not allow for such big uploads. Maybe some of you are interested in the result: http://d81.de/shared/vic-ii/01_row_13-8bit.png Take note that this was only some exercise, it is unlikely that I will do more of these image rows. Although Photoshop worked fine and did not run out of memory, I doubt that this program would be able to combined all 13 rows into one big picture plane.
