Hi, I have a question concerning c2n232 operation with a USB-to-RS232 adapter on the PC (using Linux) The c2n232 setup works on a normal PC, so it is not essential to make it work but it would be nice. When I connect it to the laptop with the USB adapter, I can run c2nload, but on the CBM side I only get to the "searching" state. On the Linux side I get ------------- writing 12224 bytes... done c2nload: loader started, loading the file. c2nload -c /dev/ttyUSB0: C2N232 responded 0x00; expected '@' ------------- The USB adapter I have uses the prolific pl2303 adapter chip. That's what the kernel says ------------- Aug 5 23:43:31 linux-4k3b kernel: [ 9280.175669] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial Aug 5 23:43:31 linux-4k3b kernel: [ 9280.175693] USB Serial support registered for generic Aug 5 23:43:31 linux-4k3b kernel: [ 9280.175734] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial_gene ric Aug 5 23:43:31 linux-4k3b kernel: [ 9280.175740] usbserial: USB Serial Driver core Aug 5 23:43:31 linux-4k3b kernel: [ 9280.192089] USB Serial support registered for pl2303 Aug 5 23:43:31 linux-4k3b kernel: [ 9280.192131] pl2303 3-2.2:1.0: pl2303 converter detected Aug 5 23:43:31 linux-4k3b kernel: [ 9280.204182] usb 3-2.2: pl2303 converter now attached to ttyUSB0 Aug 5 23:43:31 linux-4k3b kernel: [ 9280.204245] usbcore: registered new interface driver pl2303 Aug 5 23:43:31 linux-4k3b kernel: [ 9280.204265] pl2303: Prolific PL2303 USB to serial adaptor driver ------------- In this old post http://www.softwolves.com/arkiv/cbm-hackers/11/11241.html Marko writes that it should work with this IC though. I am not sure if I have the correct software versions. I use c2nload-1.0.4 from the cbm archive (and cbmlink-0.9.7 but I don't get to that with the laptop and USB adapter). Don't know how to find out the c2n232 version though. Any ideas? Maybe Marko? Thanks for any help André -- GRATIS für alle GMX-Mitglieder: Die maxdome Movie-FLAT!
