On a second thought.. _LORAM, _HIRAM an _CHAREN would be available directly off the daughterboard placed CPU. Aren't those the key inputs for PLA in the context of the three ROMS in question? I mean in such case we don't need to tap on writes but (part of) PLA functions could be reimplemented in the CPLD, allowing the ROMs to be activated as needed, couldn't it?
