No teri. The 1541 and 1571 are different.  One is single and the other is double sided. Though you can use single sided 1541 formatted disks into a 1571.

Can you put the 1571 better ROM mentioned into a 1541 to improve it?

I might do the 1541 to 2031LP mod but I only have a 1541-II and a

classic 1541 but with the "1541 C" mechanism, so I'm not sure if any of

those are suitable for conversion.




They should be... I have a Oceanic OC-168 drive that uses the electronics of the old 'long board' 1541, meaning all TTL, no gate array. The ROM in it is the one from the 1541-II, meaning a 251968-03. No, not a copy, I put a real ROM in there.



So far it works fine.
