No teri. The 1541 and 1571 are different. One is single and the other is double sided. Though you can use single sided 1541 formatted disks into a 1571. I have a Oceanic OC-168 drive that uses the electronics of the old 'long board' 1541, meaning all TTL, no gate array. The ROM in it is the one from the 1541-II, meaning a 251968-03. No, not a copy, I put a real ROM in there. So far it works fine.
