Yeah the USA made metal 128DCR 1571 circuit & chips are cranky and won't read. I removed the 1571 mechanism, put it in a external 1571 tested it and it performed very well. So I assume it's the circuitry in the 128DCR that has bugs etc. I did the Al Anger hack ( disables internal 1571) shuts it off, add toggle switch! The serial drive port is still active frees up device#8 But I have heard of some issue with this hack but at least it works better. :) Terry Raymond On Jan 17, 2018 1:06 PM, "Terry Raymond" <traymond160@gmail.com> wrote: > Veni Vidi Vic Demo flashes the Led. 😁 > > Terry Raymond > > > On Jan 17, 2018 2:36 AM, <silverdr@wfmh.org.pl> wrote: > >> >> > On 2018-01-17, at 01:24, smf <smf@null.net> wrote: >> > >> >> Which is OK as I didn't want to be fully straightforward with that ;-) >> But since Francesco is a HAM he immediately got that I meant he could >> output using Morse code, which I am relatively sure he has some sentiment >> for just as I do. >> > >> > If you can flash a led, then you can toggle some serial lines and pick >> the result up from a c64/logic analyser or even one of those cheap ttl >> rs232 usb devices. >> >> Sure, but would that give you the same warm, cozy feeling as finding a >> good use for your telegraphy skills and proving beyond any doubt that they >> are still highly relevant in 2018? ;-) >> >> -- >> SD! - http://e4aws.silverdr.com/ >> >> >> Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing list >> > Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing listReceived on 2018-01-17 21:02:37
