The generic emulation fine, I agree, but what people saw on their screens back then depended on combination of at least the following:

- VIC model/revision
- mainboard revision
- modulator variant/revision or lack of one (SX)
- monitor/tv type/age/settings

if not more, even if we talk only about PAL and 50Hz mains. While technically possible, to parametrise some things, and account for other, you probably wouldn't want to build accurate models for all possible combinations, even if GPU was used to process and render the final output.
