There is also a "drive knock" program > that I have used from time to time that jiggers the head. Five years later and a at-home-Easter, I have dug out my stuff and found that it only took five minutes to open up the Oceanic drive and clean the head, using the cleaning liquid I bought then. The drive connects to the ZoomFloopy, and I can get the status info from it. If I try to get a directory, all I get is the "74,drive not ready,00,00" message, and then nothing happens until I cycle power. I tried to follow the advice above and format a blank disk (I still have a couple of packs of blank 5.25"DSDD disks) using cbmformat --original --verify 8 TEST20200411,FX and it did start up, knocking the head, and the LED on the drive turned red. The disk is still spinning ten minutes later, though. I guess the drive is quite dead, and that I should try one of my other drives instead, unless anyone has any good ideas on troubleshooting? -- \\// Peter - http://www.softwolves.pp.se/Received on 2020-05-30 01:25:40
