From PET Personal Computer Guide: "The -011 ROM in early BASIC 1.0, 28-pin ROM PETs occasionly causes the operator to lose control of the computer. This happens most frequently when the bottom line of the screen is being edited." I don't remember whether my early PET has 24 or 28 pin ROMs. It is in a box at the bottom of my closet right now.
